What are Fertilizers?

The nutrients that plants need for growth and development are called fertilizers. These nutrients are important components for various physiological processes, such as photosynthesis, cell division, and the formation of essential molecules such as DNA and proteins.

Fertilizer is a combination of nutrients, and it is a mixture of those substances that provides soil conditioning and replenishment with the required amount of nutrients. It can be said that this mixture of substances enhances the natural fertility of the soil and fills it with the necessary minerals. This product includes components that plants need for growth and development, for example, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, iron, zinc and others.

GrowGrow growshops have fertilizers available for different types of plants and needs. It should be noted that products for both experienced and beginner growers are presented here.

FAQ

Nutients are available in both dry and liquid forms. Dry refers to a powder or crystalline substance, and liquid is obtained as a result of mixing with water. So you can choose the option you want. When using it, it is important to consider at which stage of plant development you should use the fertilizer.

If we consider this on an vegetables example, then cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli should be fertilized with nutrients 3 weeks after transplanting, and peas, beans, peppers and cucumbers after flowering.

Choose the season carefully for dividing the land. Generally, this process occurs in early spring or early summer when plants are in their active growth phase. Avoid late season fertilization.

After applying the fertilizer, water the area well. This will help to break down substances and transfer them to the roots of the plant. Note that excess water may wash away the fertilizer.

Even if you are actively applying fertilizer, regularly monitor plants and soil for deficiencies or excesses.

BIO Nutrients

Bio-fertilizers are biological products that contain living microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi or algae. It should be noted that biological fertilizer is not a direct source of nutrients. Instead, it strengthens the plant and gives it the ability to maximize the uptake of nutrients from the soil.

Mineral fertilizers

Mineral fertilizers are synthetic or naturally occurring chemicals that provide essential nutrients to plants and include nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and others.

The main advantage of fertilizers is the improved condition of the soil. Due to the fact that biofertilizers contain useful microorganisms, at their expense the soil structure is improved and the content of organic matter increases. At the same time, minerals are better absorbed by the plant, which significantly increases fertility.

It is also important that fertilizers increase the plant's resistance to pathogens and pests and reduce the need for chemical pesticides. Finally, it contributes to the development of agriculture.
